Retired Naval commander rushed to the hospital for treatment, dies after military ambulance dumped him
A retired Naval commander has been reported dead by his nephew, who recounted the carelessness of an ambulance staff which led to his death.
According to Twitter user @i_am_anomeli, his sick uncle who is a retired Naval commander, was being out to the hospital for treatment with a military ambulance, however the ambulance’s staff got another call to go somewhere else, they took him back home where he died.
My uncle who retired as a Commander in the Nigerian Navy was being taken to a hospital yday in a military ambulance. The ambulance staff received a call & said they had to go somewhere else. So they took him back home. He died shortly after. At the moment, I hate this country
They took him back home. A man who was slipping in & out of consciousness. An ambulance taking him to a hospital turned, took him home & left him to die. This country is a joke. A sad desperately unfunny joke designed to kill us one way or another.
This is coming few weeks after a Nigerian soldier also disclosed that he has given up on the country, after his cousin was killed by operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) who tortured him.
The military person was informed of the passing of the deceased, as soon as he arrived his community of residence. The tweet he shared revealed his state of mind – a lack of inspiration in a society dealing with an issue of police brutality. It got mixed reaction on social media, as followers who sympathized with the special forces personnel also asked him to take action.
Comments on Twitter mainly highlighted the degree of disorderliness in the Nigerian society, which has encouraged a number of citizens to lose faith in the country’s leadership. Some followers had no problem with the idea of revenge, but others urged more commitment to solving national issues.
